- The last Reef Writers' meeting for 2011 will be held at The Book Lounge on December 15 at 6.30pm. All welcome. There will be no meeting in January and February's meeting will depend on The Wet. Notification of whether February's meeting will go ahead will be made closer to the date.
- Submissions are open for emerging Australian writers to enter the Hachette Australia and Queensland Writers Centre's (QWC) Manuscript Development Program. The prize is a coveted five-day intensive retreat in November for the winner to work with senior editors, publishers and other authors to refine their manuscript. A separate program for emerging children's book writers, supported by Allen & Unwin, is also open for submissions.
